Tyler ISD Families,

This message is for families of elementary (K-5) and middle school students who do not have access to Distance Learning Online and are therefore utilizing the printed instructional packets.

In an effort to better accommodate your student’s learning process, we will be moving from the weekly printed instructional packets to more sustainable instruction workbooks. These are workbooks your student has already been using at school this year, and they are familiar with the material. By passing out these workbooks (again, only to those without internet access), we hope to provide parents a more convenient option than having to pick up and return packets each week.

Workbooks will be available for pick up at your home campus this Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27. Distribution of the workbooks will be by grade and scheduled time. We know that families may have siblings in multiple grades and different scheduled times. Campus staff should be prepared to hand out the additional siblings’ workbooks at one time to keep you from having to come back.

Middle School Grades (6th, 7th and 8th)

If you are not able to pick up middle school or elementary school workbooks during the scheduled times, please contact your teacher to arrange alternate plans. Please know that your safety and health are important to us. We ask that you remain in your vehicle when picking up materials and practice the expectation of social distancing by staying six feet, or more, away from others.

Pre-K and high school packets will still go out next week and can be picked up at the curbside meals locations between 11 am to 1 pm.

Thank you for your patience. We are hearing your concerns and trying to make the Distance Learning plan as accessible to all students as possible so that we continue to create successful student outcomes.
