Tyler Legacy orchestra playing on stage

On March 30, the Tyler Legacy High School orchestras, under the direction of Lisa Lininger, performed in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region IV Concert and Sightreading Competition. Both orchestras executed superior performances and received the highest ratings in both categories from all judges.

"I'm so very proud of all the hard work and perseverance that our students poured into preparing for this competition," Ms. Lininger said. "Not only did they meet the requirements of a technically clean and accurate performance, but they were able to connect the audience with the emotional and expressive intent of the music. That takes a lot of maturity and understanding of musical phrasing and nuance. I am so thrilled that our students could connect with the art of performing so completely."
