Tyler ISD ranks 45th overall on the Forbes List of America’s Best-in-State Employers and ranks ahead of Tesla and Boeing in the top 50. The elite list includes NASA in the number one position and Google in second.

“East Texas is an extraordinary place to live, work, play, and worship,” Superintendent Dr. Marty Crawford said. “This designation solidifies not only how fulfilling and special it is to be working in Tyler ISD, but more of a reflection of how the community supports the people who work inside the namesake school system of the Tyler area.”

Forbes conducts research using an independent survey to establish the rankings each year. Americans working for businesses with a minimum of five hundred employees are asked to share their opinions anonymously. Ratings by employees included opportunities for advancement, safety, compensation, and if they would encourage others to work for Tyler ISD.

“We’re excited and honored to receive this recognition,” Deputy Superintendent/Chief of Staff Ronald K. Jones said. “We know top teachers and other district staff look for the best places to work. We will use this unique distinction to continue to recruit superior talent to Tyler ISD.”

Other familiar brands sharing the top 50 space with Tyler ISD include Ikea (4), Southwest Airlines (6), H-E-B (9), MD Anderson Cancer Center (11), Microsoft (14), Texas A&M University (22), and Apple (26). Tyler ISD ranked above Geico (78), UPS (86), and Nike (97).
