A record number of Moore students will attend the Texas Science and Engineering Fair held this weekend at Texas A&M University after placing at the top of their category at the East Texas Regional Science Fair held at Kilgore College in February. Join us in wishing these seven students good luck as they represent Moore Mustangs "taking it to the next level!"

Spring Picture day is this Friday, March 8. These are OPTIONAL. Your student does NOT have to be photographed. Students were given order forms this week. If you want your child to be photographed, your options are as follows:
Option 1) You may send the order form with payment (exact cash or check) to school with your student. They will hand this to the photographer when their photo is taken.
Option 2) You may place an order online at mylifetouch.com and use picture day ID: EVTH7VQPZ. If you order online, please send the confirmation of this to school with your student on Friday. They will hand this to the photographer when their photo is taken.
**Parents, please do not drop off order forms or online confirmations after school has started. There will be no make-up date if your child is absent or does not get photographed.

Moore showed UP today at the Academic Rodeo Awards Ceremony! 16 students received awards today recognizing their accomplishments in various academic competitions including Academic Challenge Quiz Bowl, Engineering Challenge, Computer Science, Writing, Art, and Science Fair.
Students who place 1st-3rd in any competition are eligible to apply for Academic Rodeo scholarships, and we are proud to announce that the following Moore Mustangs were awarded scholarships today:
$500 - Jackson Miles, Jonathan Miles, and Addison Storms
$750 - Ritzi Padilla
$1000 - Sanaa Salvi

After creating a physical project, digital board, and extensive interviews, we are excited to announce that 7 students will be advancing to the TXSEF State Science Fair at Texas A&M in March! We are so proud of each of our scientists!
Our Moore Engineering Team, comprised of 8th graders Hailey Arroyo and Addison Storms and 7th graders Itzel Mejia and Juliet Graves competed in the Academic Rodeo Engineering Challenge on Monday. Their challenge was to build and code a rover capable of traversing Mars’ rocky surface. They competed in four different events including an incline test, speed test, Martian rock collecting, and blind driving. Our Mustangs scored FIRST PLACE! Congratulations!
