Congratulations to our District Teacher of Month, Heather DeLeon, from Owens Elementary School.
Heather drives innovative classroom instruction by ensuring students have opportunities to participate in blending learning activities daily. She utilizes technology by designing and implementing digital experiences for all learners through games and assessments. Heather creates an atmosphere of high expectations for all learners, taking the time needed to
build relationships with individual students as well as their families.
Mrs. DeLeon creates a classroom culture conducive to the love of lifelong learning. She volunteers to assist in school sponsored activities both during and after the school day. Recently, she was featured on the evening news for sponsoring a school-wide service project, creating Christmas cards benefitting local senior
living communities.
