2022 graduate Logan Dockery has plenty to share about his successful student outcome from Tyler ISD. As a former student of the Wayne D. Boshears Center for Exceptional Programs, Logan has earned his high school diploma, completed the LINK Program, and obtained a full-time job.

In partnership with Tyler Junior College and businesses throughout the community, the Learning Independence and New Knowledge (LINK) Program helps students with special needs, like Logan, develop vocational and independent living skills. Located on the Tyler Junior College (TJC) West Campus, students spend part of their day at the district campus, and the other part is at TJC and with the partnering businesses.

"Logan has become an integral member of the transportation team,” Tyler ISD Shop Coordinator Randy Burton said. "He is willing to assist and is always up for a good time. His contagious smile, vivacious laugh, and determination to be present every day embody what everyone would want in an employee. Logan loves to take daily trips on the mule to check the transportation lot, enjoys keeping the area free of debris, and working with office personnel when the need arises."

Tyler ISD is proud to have one of its former students return as a member of the Tyler ISD family. Since becoming a full-time employee in the Transportation Department, Logan has captured the hearts of his co-workers. His work ethic, commitment, and funny sense of humor are just a few of the many qualities Logan brings to work every day.

"He has found his home with Tyler ISD," Burton said.

The district strives to provide every Tyler ISD student with the same opportunities and instill in them the desire to become productive members of society. Logan's story of Successful Student Outcomes is an inspiration to us all.
