Sensory activities engage multiple senses, promoting cognitive development. Children learn to process and interpret information through touch, sight, sound, taste, and smell, enhancing their overall cognitive abilities.  It can also provide opportunities for language development. Describing sensations, discussing experiences, and using rich vocabulary during sensory play contribute to language skills.

Developing sensory integration skills in elementary school lays the foundation for future learning. These skills are crucial for more complex cognitive tasks and academic success as students progress through their education.
