salvation army

CTC students in Ms. Smith’s Counseling/Mental Health and Practicum in Human Services classes organized a CTC-wide food drive to stock the Salvation Army’s Food Pantry. Their theme was the 1 Item Challenge: One CAN Make a Difference, challenging all students to bring just one item, demonstrating how everyone pitching in can make a big impact. Their goal was to collect 2000 items over two weeks. Competition was fierce at the CTC. Fortunately, this goal was surpassed by collecting 2030! At the beginning of the drive, Ms. Smith’s students visited all classes in order to promote the food drive and get students excited about participating, with teachers' classes competing with one another to collect the most. In the end, Mr. Vowell and Mr. Eschberger’s students collected 547, and Mrs. Dickey’s students collected 511. We are so proud of the spirit of giving from CTC students and staff!
